At Nitta, we hold your most personal emotional records as the precious, private content they are. This policy is designed to be clear and transparent, explaining exactly how we handle every piece of data you share with us, so you can feel completely safe while exploring your inner world with our platform.
We built Nitta to be a judgment-free space for you to record your true feelings without pressure to tie your emotions to weight, productivity scores, or any other irrelevant metrics. Your privacy is our highest priority, and we will never compromise it for commercial gain.
What Information We Collect
- Content you voluntarily submit: All mood check-ins, text notes, photo uploads, custom mood GIFs, and timestamp information you add to your journal. You are never required to share any content you do not feel comfortable recording.
- Basic account information (if you create an account): Only the email address or sign-in method you choose to use to secure access to your records. We will never ask you for additional personal details like age, weight, fitness metrics, or productivity data.
- Anonymous usage data: Aggregated, non-identifiable data about app functionality to improve features like swipe navigation and check-in load times. This data cannot be linked back to your personal account or records.
How We Use Your Information
- Store and sync your personal journal entries across your devices, so you can access your memory collection whenever you need it.
- Generate the scientific mood pattern insights you opt into, to help you identify emotional patterns and build targeted self-care habits. All analysis runs in an encrypted environment, and insights are only visible to you.
- Troubleshoot technical issues you report to our support team. We will never access your private journal content during support requests unless you explicitly choose to share specific entries with us.
- We will never use your personal journal content to train public AI models, serve you targeted advertisements, or create user profiles for commercial purposes.
Data Storage & Security
All your personal journal content is encrypted end-to-end when stored on our servers and during transmission between your device and our systems. We use industry-leading security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to your data.
No Nitta staff member can view the private content of your journal unless you explicitly grant temporary access during a support request. We do not scan or read your entries for any purpose beyond the features you choose to use within the app.
You can choose to store all your entries locally on your device only, with no cloud sync, at any time in your app settings.
Your Rights Over Your Data
- Access, edit, or delete individual journal entries at any time, with no restrictions.
- Export your entire journal collection in common file formats (PDF, JSON, image zip) for your own personal backup, completely free of charge.
- Permanently delete your entire account and all associated data with one tap, with no waiting period or additional verification required beyond your standard account access.
- Opt out of mood pattern analysis at any time, without affecting your ability to use the core journaling features of Nitta.
Third-Party Data Sharing
We will never sell, rent, or lease your personal data, including your journal content, account information, or usage patterns, to any third party for commercial purposes.
We will only disclose your personal data if we are required to do so by applicable mandatory legal requests. In such cases, we will take all reasonable steps to notify you of the disclosure before it happens, unless we are prohibited from doing so by the request.
Policy Updates
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will notify all users via in-app notification and email at least 30 days before the updated policy takes effect. You will have the option to review the changes and choose whether to continue using Nitta or delete your account.
We will never make changes to this policy that reduce your privacy rights without your explicit consent.
